Scimex: An Australian study has found that
while swapping your brand of smokes and trying to quit are activities
that often occur together, changing brands will not help you quit in the
long-run. A commentary response by a New Zealand author discusses the
difficulties of performing such a study, and adds that the price of
certain products may also account for why people swap tobacco brands. In
a formal response, the authors explain that they collected the data in
best possible way, and disagree with the idea that price plays a role in
the decision to swap tobacco brand.
