Bupropion: A Non-stimulant ADHD Drug Treatment

BrainPosts: Stimulant drugs including dextroamphetamine (Adderall) and methylphenidate (Ritalin) remain among the most common and effective drug treatments for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Alternative to stimulant drugs are needed to expand treatment options for clinicians and patients. One problem with the stimulants is the potential for misuse and diversion of prescription drugs to illicit drug use.

Mysimba recommended for approval in weight management in adults

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has recommended granting a marketing authorisation for Mysimba (naltrexone / bupropion) for weight management of overweight or obese adults. The medicine is recommended for use in addition to a reduced-calorie diet and physical activity.
